Real-Time Search – 5 Reasons Why

If you don’t understand why the Real Time Web is huge, you will soon.
Thanks to micro-blogging sites like Twitter, a constant stream of human-posted content has infiltrated the Web. This growing infiltration has created a bottoms up approach to content creation that via the progressive support of rapidly developing applications has and will continue to empower every individual to co-create what is deemed as "important" on the Web. The Real Time Web serves as both the database that informs us of what is happening right "Now" and the human touch to the content that will compete with the traditional algorithms for what is deemed as "valuable" content to us all.

Its challenges lie in the filtration and mass integration of both the content and the act of sharing to the Real Time Web. There remain major aspects of the Web that have not yet integrated "searching" and "sharing" of the Real Time Web, including traditional search. But as filtration and integration progress the Web will take the form of a living breathing database.
Here are 5 reasons why Real Time Search will help the Real Time movement change the Web and your experience forever.
1. The "Now" Factor
We saw it with Michael Jackson’s passing. We saw it with the Iran Protests and we see it more and more everyday — the Real Time web provides us with what is happening right "Now" and with vivid detail from around the globe. "We" is driving the "Now" factor.
2. We Become Co-Creators
The Real-Time web offers us the ability to become co-creators in not only content but also in what is deemed important. Why? Because we decide what is worth sharing, discussing and having opinions on. This behavior serves as a natural selection of valuable content. Certainly the current web allows for creation of content, but what is deemed as important/valuable is mostly left up to a few individuals, organizations and a bunch of robots. The Real-Time web, once fully integrated, will change that.
3. Humans vs Machines
Have you ever clicked on blue links that lead you to a piece of content dating back to a year ago? Search results lose relevancy each day due to the amount of new content hitting the internet. Spiders, web crawlers and engines decide what content is relevant via algorithms and those results can be manipulated via intelligently structured content (SEO). Real-time search enables users to receive information via conversations and people instead of machines. Take a look at your web results today. Would you rather receive cold content determined by algorithms or what the crowd and people value as good and bad?

How Many Links to Get to the Middle of Google Page One?

At least for me it was a myth that how many inbound links I should have for the optimum results of SEO for my site. I came across this perfect article for that so i decided to share with all of you guys

Everyday it seems, people are asking me about the optimum number of inbound links they need to acquire for their website in order to rank well in Google.
My answer is going to seem a little flip, but it is the honest, best answer.
Answer: You need more inbound links – of equal or higher quality – than what your competitors have.
Albert Einstein argued that any mathematical formula that required pages of calculations did not contain within it "the mind of God".

Windows Vista: Hibernate option disappeared!

Last nite was tryong to tweak up my Vista windows and I intentionally delete the old Hibernate data files and i lost the option of hibernating. below is the solution and the link to the actual post.

Just to jot down some notes about this strange problem that happens from time to time in my laptop running Windows Vista – for people who might find the suggestion using search engines from here, and more so for me to look back when it happens the next time.

How it happens

Among other reasons (which I am not so much aware of) you may find that the Hibernate option that was there in your Start Menu has suddenly disappeared after you did a Disk Cleanup activity from Accessories > System Tools – if you had chosen to delete off old “hibernate data files” (or something which will read like that) among other stuff that you decided to remove.

How to get it back

1. Open a Command Prompt window from Start Menu > Accessories using Administrative privileges (“Run as Administrator” option using right click on the Command Prompt menu).

2. Type powercfg.exe /hibernate on

3. The prompt should be back without any output. The Hibernate option should be back in your Start Menu now.

4. Wait for the mythical Vista Service Pack 1 to arrive to fix the problem permanently.

Cheers!

Alternative to Google Adwords

EXACTSEEK’S FEATURED LISTING PROGRAM can’t be matched in value or performance. Why pay for ads in Google, Yahoo! or other pay-per-click engines that experience a 15% – 25% click-fraud rate and cost you more in one day than a sponsored listing with us costs in months. The choice is simple. ExactSeek and the ISEDN (Independent Search Engine & Directory Network), are able to provide a flat rate keyword program that offers webmasters & siteowners Top 10 Exposure across a large network of search engines and web directories at low, one-tíme, flat fee rates. We provide the only alternative to PPC that delivers solid value and true benefits:

Linq: fetch the record by checking the range of attributes

the code for fetching the admin fee according to to the range of the Amount Up to is below

BTRatesDataContext db = new BTRatesDataContext();

var adminFees = from a in db.AdminFees
                        where a.AmountUpto > amount
                        orderby a.AmountUpto ascending
                        select a;
        AdminFee af = adminFees.FirstOrDefault();
        return Convert.ToDecimal(af.Fee);

For alll going to be bosses

Somehow…. if your get to be a BOSS ….. you will probably be Forced/ Coerced to :

  • act rudely and brutely by the book, (something you once hated the most)
  • focus just on documentation (once you u would say : why are they mad for it every new year/month)
  • delay the valid promotion of  some subordinates (OMG: impossible how can one be so ….)
  • warn and delay the pays on trivial issues (DAMN !!!…… NO…..)
  • be on leave yourself when you wont grant one to others  (..are they Special..?????)
  • issue displeasures and verbal warnings on minutest issues  (….WAS that so BIG a Deal… !!!!)
  • ignore some big mal-doings for some hidden reasons   …. (why is he damn silent NOW…. are the rules changed NOW ???)
  • discriminate severly b/w close to you and not close to you colleagues (…once you had to console yourself : after all they are his buddies…..)
  • pokes into personal affairs of subordinates    (Previously : he is too suspicious about me .. MAN… why ???)
  • not take stands on issues normally ….
  • never back up your colleagues against higher ups… (esp. most silent or most louder ones) who have worked extra hours for you
  • seldom listen to pleas of subordinates …. (CRAP….. he thinks… I am crap…and wont listen)
  • insist on your own developed justification of issues and resist strongly  to  change
  • not speak up/ discuss the the issues that are DUE on you
After all you will have your own bosses then…. SO its the BOSS Cycle……Be Ready….
